Friends, there is only one weapon that God has given us to successfully execute the task of His intended will, and that is prayer! Prayer is that tool that executes the authority of His Word, His Will, His intention in our lives.

Ephesians 6:12 tells us that our wrestle is not against flesh and blood but that we wrestle against spiritual powers.

Prayer, Praise and Kingly proclamation are the vehicles God has given us to see His word brought to bear and enforced in any given environment. The word of God Enforced!

Philippians 4:6,7 “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.”

Read some great quotes concerning the power of prayer…

SD Gordon says “You can do more than pray after you have prayed, but you cannot do more than pray until you have prayed ... Prayer is striking the winning blow... our acts of service is gathering up the results”

John Wesley says, “God does nothing on the earth save in answer to believing prayer.”

EM Bounds says “God shapes the world by prayer. The more praying there is in the world the better the world will be, and the mightier the forces against evil. The prayers of God’s saints are the capital stock of heaven by which God carries on His great work upon the earth. God conditions the very life and prosperity of His cause on prayer.”

“Capital Stock” in business terms is like a large sum of money you have saved up, or for many of us it will mean the equity we have built up towards owning our home. You can’t spend more then you have deposited or you end up in debt! God awaits more faith-filled prayer so that He can “spend” more on the Earth!

So in order to have authority and confidence in our “contending for” (prayer), we must have a clear and strong conviction as to the nature of our authority. In order to do that, it is essential that we first see clearly God’s original (and still remaining) intention for mankind on the earth.

We’ll have a look at that next week!

God bless,

David
