Have you ever observed an over-pampered cat that knows it is the object of an unreasonable amount of love and care by its owner? It struts through the house like it owns it and then when the owner sits down to relax it hurls itself on to their lap!
Contrast that with that stray cat that sometimes prowls cautiously across the back of your property when it thinks no one is looking. On those rare occasions in which you stop to stare at each other (before it races back to the safety of the hedge or the darkness of the night) you see that mixture of fear and suspicion that tells you someone, somewhere communicated humanities crueller side to that cat. Such extremes.
There are those whose revelation of their Father’s love floods them with such confidence, such boldness, that they never hesitate to bounce into His presence. The warmth of His embrace is life’s most beautiful moment.
Then there are those, who life has deceived into believing the lie that God is harsh and that they are a constant irritation to Him. What a tragic and evil lie that truly is.
Friends, no one could ever love you more passionately and more unconditionally. He eagerly awaits every moment you spend with Him and longs to remove anything that would hinder your boldness in coming to Him. Is He aware of your broken and often wilful humanity? Of course. But His love for you is so vastly bigger than that and He longs for you to perceive it.
