"Empowered from Within – Part One"

Just imagine a world in which Spiderman and The Hulk were not myth but reality. Just imagine that normal human beings could be somehow infected by some virus that gave them a superhuman capacity.

Fantasy? No. Not really.

I encourage you to read John 16:5-7, 12-15 , John 20:22, Acts 1:4,5,8
Acts 1:8 “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me”. “POWER” The supernatural of God that would so transform them that, living supernatural lives, they would become a living evidence of Jesus.
What we need to see is that in the heart of Jesus, the entire concept of having followers that would accurately represent Him (The Church) was entirely dependent upon the work and activity of the Person of The Holy Spirit.
It was the Holy Spirit that was to teach them.
It was the Holy Spirit that was to counsel them.
It was the Holy Spirit that was to guide them.
It was the Holy Spirit that was to empower them.
It was the Holy Spirit that was to transform their lives to reflect Jesus.

By the Holy Spirit, fishermen could become Apostles.
By the Holy Spirit, personalities could be transformed.
By the Holy Spirit, ordinary people could do extraordinary things.
By the Holy Spirit, unlearned people would know wisdom and understanding.
By the Holy Spirit, humans would become the instruments of miracles.
By the Holy Spirit, Christians could be released from the weakness of their humanity and live supernaturally empowered lives.
The Christian Life was designed uniquely to be lived supernaturally as the Holy Spirit empowered them to do so. The Christian Life was never considered possible outside of a total reliance upon the Holy Spirit and His giftedness working in and through us.
My question is:
How aware of the Person of the Holy Spirit are you?
How totally reliant are you on Him each day for wisdom, guidance, health, strength, provision?
Proverbs 3:6 says: "In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path.”
Are you one that constantly acknowledges your need of, and confidence in, the person of the Holy Spirit?
Is He the One that daily instructs you?
Many Pentecostal Churches today are Pentecostal in name only: the work of the Holy Spirit has been confined to the role of anointing OUR programs and OUR endeavours as WE initiate and WE action those initiatives.
Friends, the Holy Spirit needs to be involved in every aspect of our daily lives. He needs to be breathing into you the Father’s instructions and empowering you supernaturally to live lives no longer restricted to your humanity.
He wants to be involved in your Board Meetings.
He wants to be involved in your Parenting.
He wants to be involved in your Vocation or Business.
He wants to be involved in every aspect of your Ministry.
The Holy Spirit alone knows the heartbeat of The Father: God’s intention cannot be revealed to you by any other than the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit has been endued with all the power of the Godhead: miracles cannot take place without Him.
Friends, most important of all, only the Holy Spirit has the power to accurately represent Jesus to this world.
It is only as He is released to live His life through you that others start to see Jesus in you.
The Holy Spirit is the Divine nature of God, He is God’s personality.
It is the fruit of The Holy Spirit.
It is the gifts of The Holy Spirit.
It is impossible to live the Christian life successfully without Him and it is impossible to be His Church Triumphant without his constant instruction and empowerment.
I believe God is calling us back to the simplicity of accurately representing Jesus and living lives daily under the command of God, fulfilling His will and purpose. That is impossible without the Holy Spirit’s active involvement.

As you are daily empowered by the Holy Spirit:
Let your love and passion declare Him!
Let your wisdom and understanding declare Him!
Let your transformed people declare Him!
Let your acts of the miraculous declare Him!
Let your financial freedom declare Him!
Let you unconquerable joy declare Him!
Let your overcoming spirit declare Him!
Let your acts of compassion declare Him!
Let the spirit of prophecy in your midst declare Him!

A supernatural people living a supernatural life declaring a supernatural Christ. Let your life declare Him!

In next week’s article, I want to build on this thought and talk about living that supernatural life, but right now take a moment to ask the Holy Spirit to truly become the Lord Director of your day. He is longing to empower you to do the Father’s will and is covenanted to do so as you rely upon Him and obey His promptings.
God bless,
David
