I found this book by David McCracken a fascinating insight into a life lived in obedience to God.
It is almost like looking back to biblical times and seeing how God responds to those who seek to follow him whole heartedly.
He writes in an easy style and tells the story of his own life – interesting, at times exciting and certainly not always perfect.
From it though we glean words of wisdom and some timeless truths. For example, character always trumps ability, provision follows obedience and something I especially appreciated: keep your intimacy with God and integrity with people.
David is a prophet but acknowledges others have different gifts, for example skills in business. He emphasises that as Christians we are all called to a life of repentance and obedience.
I thoroughly recommend this book to those who want to be encouraged as to what can happen when we step beyond the confinements of our routine lifestyles.
